Oʻahu Surf Guide is a small, free visitor guide. We aim to collect as little information as possible.
Browsing the guide
You can browse without an account. Search and filter choices stay in your browser’s page URL; we don’t save them to a profile or database. Fonts and photos are served with the site. There are no embedded videos or advertising trackers.
Email signup
Signup is available through Kit. The form sends your email address directly to Kit to manage the weekly newsletter when signup is available. Kit sends the double opt-in confirmation email; click its link to finish signing up. Kit may process technical information needed to deliver the signup and email, such as your IP address and subscription activity. We use your email to send the newsletter, not to sell your address. Follow the unsubscribe link in any newsletter to leave.
Read Kit’s privacy policy for its processing and retention practices. Contact us to request access to or deletion of subscription information. We retain an active subscription until you unsubscribe or request removal, subject to the provider’s operational and legal requirements.
Hosting and security logs
A hosting provider may process IP addresses, browser details, request times and requested URLs to serve the site and prevent abuse. Retention and processing depend on the hosting provider configured at launch.
Analytics and cookies
No analytics service is currently installed, and this site sets no tracking cookies or local storage. If we add analytics, we’ll update this page with the provider, data collected and any required choices before enabling it. External sites may use their own cookies.
Business, video and affiliate links
Official business, Salty Shots and YouTube links take you to other websites with their own privacy practices. When affiliate comparisons are enabled, a partner may use a referral identifier and cookies after you follow a link. See our affiliate disclosure. We don’t receive your payment information through this guide.
